Restaurant Owner Charged After Shooting Teen Over Tip Jar Theft

STOWE TOWNSHIP, PA – A local business owner faces charges after a shooting incident at Hook Fish and Chicken restaurant in Stowe Township.

Allegheny County Police report that around 10 p.m. on Saturday, a 15-year-old attempted to steal a tip jar from the counter.

The owner, 39-year-old Mohammed Hamdan, responded by firing three shots at the teenager as he attempted to leave the restaurant.

The victim was hospitalized in stable condition. Surveillance footage revealed that the owner was not under threat, and the teenager was unarmed at the time of the shooting.

Mohammed Hamdan has been charged with aggravated assault and was taken into custody on Sunday morning. He is currently held in the county jail, awaiting arraignment.
