Shirley Man Admits to Killing Girlfriend

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY – On Monday, Oscar Morocho-Morocho, 32, of Shirley, pleaded guilty to Manslaughter in the First Degree in connection with the death of his girlfriend, 34-year-old Ruth Para-Martinez.

The incident occurred on the evening of May 7, when Morocho-Morocho became enraged with Para-Martinez and publicly and violently beat her in a commercial area of Shirley.

Surveillance footage from a local business captured Morocho-Morocho punching, kicking, and dragging Para-Martinez.

The following morning, Para-Martinez was found deceased by Suffolk County Police Department members at the same location.

Morocho-Morocho is due back in court on December 21, with legal representation provided by Jason Bassett, Esq.
