LANCASTER COUNTY, PA – The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office concluded its investigation into the death of a 3-year-old boy at Tucquan Park Family Campground, ruling it accidental.

The incident occurred on October 20, when the child accidentally shot himself with a firearm.

The shooting unfolded as the family was setting up their camper. The child’s father, while organizing their belongings, briefly placed a holstered firearm on a table.

The child accessed the gun and accidentally discharged it, resulting in a fatal wound.

Investigations confirmed the legality of the firearm and found no evidence of drugs or alcohol at the scene. The District Attorney’s Office, after thorough review, decided not to file charges in this case.
