Woman Sought in Gun Related Assault in Newark

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is calling for public assistance in locating Tonia Oakes, 47, wanted for questioning related to an aggravated assault incident. The event, involving the pointing of a handgun, occurred on Monday, November 20, in the 400 block of Avon Avenue.

Oakes is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 220 pounds, with a light brown complexion, brown hair, and brown eyes. Detectives are actively investigating the assault and believe Oakes could provide essential information.
