Infant Death in Springdale Borough Under Investigation

SPRINGDALE, PA – The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating an infant death in Springdale Borough. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Pittsburgh Street.

At approximately 2:02 PM today, emergency services were alerted to an infant not breathing. First responders performed life-saving measures on the scene. The infant was then transported to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.

Initial investigations by detectives have not revealed signs of foul play, suggesting the death may be of a medical nature. However, the case remains open pending a report from the Medical Examiner on the cause and manner of death.
