Columbus Police Seek Leads in Dawaun Lewis-Taylor Murder Case

COLUMBUS, OH – Columbus Police detectives are requesting public assistance in a 2020 homicide case involving Dawaun Lewis-Taylor.

An unidentified individual fatally shot Mr. Lewis-Taylor from a vehicle. Detective Shepherd is leading the investigation and asks anyone with information about the vehicle or the incident to come forward.

The shooting occurred on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at 3:08 pm. Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at 4809 Heatherton Dr. On arrival, they discovered Lewis-Taylor with a gunshot wound.

Despite medical attention and transportation to Grant Medical Center, Lewis-Taylor succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 3:53 PM.
