SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY – Michelle Karp, a 28-year-old resident of Oakdale, faces charges of Leaving the Scene of an Incident Without Reporting and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

The indictment follows an incident on August 7, where Karp allegedly struck 72-year-old Lydia Ciminelli in Lake Ronkonkoma and fled.

Ciminelli, who succumbed to her injuries at Stony Brook Hospital, was hit while crossing Rosevale Avenue.

Karp is accused of replacing her damaged windshield shortly after the incident. Car parts recovered from the scene matched the damage on Karp’s Nissan Maxima.

Karp, represented by Daniel Russo Esq., is scheduled for a court appearance on December 19, and currently remains under supervised release.
