Toms River to Sparkle with Annual Tree Lighting Tonight

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Toms River’s festive season begins tonight with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Set to start at 5:00 pm, the event will take place inside Mancini Hall in the Ocean County Library. The evening promises a lineup of performances, treats, and the much-anticipated tree lighting ceremony.

Toms River Fire Department, Company #1, will provide hot chocolate and treats. Attendees are encouraged to bring an unwrapped gift for the Toys for Tots drive. Debbie O’s will offer additional treats outside the library.

The entertainment schedule includes:

  • 5:00-5:20 pm: Toms River High School South Choir
  • 5:25-5:45 pm: Microphonics
  • 5:50-6:05 pm: The Dance Center
  • 6:10-6:25 pm: Elsa “The Ice Queen”
  • 6:30-6:50 pm: Donovan Catholic
  • 6:50-7:00 pm: Reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas”

Mayor Hill and dignitaries will join Santa at 7:00 pm for the tree lighting.

Additionally, the Downtown Winter Wonderland is scheduled for December 2 and 9 from 12 pm to 6 pm, featuring handcraft vendors, holiday treats, DIY activities, storytime, and dance performances.
