Albemarle County Drive-by Shooter Arrested

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA – On Wednesday, at 9:00 PM, the Albemarle County Police Department responded to a disturbance inside a vehicle on Gordonsville Road.

During the event, a firearm was discharged from within the vehicle.

The Albemarle County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division led the investigation, resulting in charges against Anthony Wayne Martin, a 45-year-old Barboursville resident.

Martin faces multiple charges including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, intentionally discharging a firearm in a motor vehicle to risk injury or death to another, and reckless handling of a firearm.

There were no injuries reported. Currently, Martin is being held at the Central Virginia Regional Jail without bond. These charges are in addition to other related charges filed in Louisa County.
