Police Investigating After Three Puppies Found Abandoned in Near Freezing Temps, One Dead

PITTSGROVE TOWNSHIP, NJ – New Jersey State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the person or persons responsible for abandoning three puppies in near-freezing temperatures in Pittsgrove Township, Salem County. The incident occurred on Wednesday, November 29th, around 12:30 p.m. at the end of Eppinger Avenue.

Troopers from the NJSP Bridgeton Station responded to the scene after receiving a report from a good Samaritan who discovered the puppies. The puppies were found trapped in a basket without food or water. Tragically, one of the three puppies was found deceased due to the harsh conditions. The surviving two puppies were in poor health and were immediately transported to a local veterinary hospital for treatment.

The New Jersey State Police are urging anyone with information about the individuals who abandoned these puppies, or anyone who may have noticed vehicles in the vicinity of Eppinger Avenue around the time of the incident, to come forward. Information can be a crucial aid in the investigation and in preventing future such incidents.
