Suspect Who Shot Two ATV Riders, Killing One, Arrested

FRANKFORD, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested Jeremiah Handy, 38, of Frankford, Delaware, for murder and related charges following a death investigation.

The incident occurred last Friday, November 24, around 1:10 a.m. in the 30200 block of Frankford School Road.

Troopers initially responded to reports of shots fired and discovered Gabriel Dorman, 22, and a 20-year-old man injured after their Honda four-wheeler was struck by Handy’s Mercedes-Benz SUV. Dorman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other victim was treated and released from a hospital.

The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit ruled out the initial reports of shots fired and identified Handy as the suspect. He was apprehended on Friday, by the Special Operations Response Team without incident and charged with Murder First Degree, Attempted Murder First Degree, and other felonies.

Handy is currently held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $850,000 cash bond. The police encourage anyone with additional information to come forward.
