Cumberland Man Arrested for Assault and Disorderly Conduct

CUMBERLAND, MD — A 66-year-old Cumberland man, Louis Levi Brown, was arrested on December 2 by the Cumberland City Police following an assault incident at a business in the 400 block of Maryland Ave. The police were called to the scene after a report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim who claimed to have been punched by another patron during checkout.

Brown, identified as the assailant, was seen exiting the store and behaving aggressively towards the officers. He was observed throwing an object at the victim, striking them. Subsequently, Brown was arrested and taken to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he awaits a bond hearing. He faces charges of 2nd Degree Assault and Disorderly Conduct.
