Statement from Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Commissioner Troy A. Miller on New Efforts to Target Smuggling Transportation Networks

“CBP is implementing new measures to impose consequences on transportation companies including bus and van lines used by smuggling organizations and nefarious actors to move migrants through northern Mexico and to our southwest border. The measures include specific law enforcement operations focused on transportation companies and their employees who are facilitating migrant smuggling activities. Pursued in conjunction with our longstanding interagency efforts through JTF-Alpha, this work is critical in our overall campaign to target the human smuggling networks preying on migrants with disinformation and exploiting them for significant financial gain.”
