SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — The Suffolk County Police Department recently congratulated the latest graduates of its Internship Program. The students completed a comprehensive three-month training, attending classes twice a week to learn the essentials of police work, mirroring the training that police recruits undergo before transitioning to patrol duty.

The program aims to provide students with an in-depth understanding of various department commands. Interns were assigned to local precincts, offering them firsthand experience in community service and law enforcement operations.

The Suffolk County Police Department offers this Internship Program in the spring, summer, and fall. Those interested in participating can contact the Suffolk County Police Academy at 631-853-7000 or email Jennifer.Andriano@suffolkcountyny.gov for more information.
