Dover Man Arrested for Valero Gas Station Store Burglary

DOVER, DE — Delaware State Police have arrested 23-year-old Damien Swift of Dover for a burglary that occurred at the Valero store on South Governors Avenue. The incident took place in the early hours of December 4.

Troopers were dispatched to the store around 2:35 a.m. following a burglary alarm. Upon arrival, they found the front door’s glass shattered. Surveillance video revealed a white male in gray sweatpants, black sneakers, and a blue and white flannel shirt with a gray hood breaking into the store. The suspect, identified as Swift, forcibly unlocked and entered the store, stealing multiple cans of chewing tobacco.

Swift was later located at a nearby hospital, still wearing the clothes seen in the video. He was arrested after receiving medical attention for injuries sustained during the burglary. Swift is now in police custody and faces charges related to the break-in.
