Long Lake Man Arrested for Killing Younger Brother

LONG LAKE, NY – Patrick B. Skerrett, 65, has been charged with the murder of Terrance J. Skerrett, 64, following a domestic altercation in Long Lake.

State Police responded to a Deerland Road residence around 2:40 a.m. Sunday, where they found Terrance Skerrett deceased from gunshot wounds. An autopsy confirmed the death as a homicide.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the altercation escalated, resulting in Patrick Skerrett shooting the victim in the head and abdomen.

Patrick Skerrett was arraigned in the Town of Long Lake Court and is currently held at the Hamilton County Jail without bail. The two men were reportedly siblings.

The State Police, in conjunction with the Hamilton County District Attorney’s Office, are actively investigating this case.
