Queens School Bus Driver Arrested for Kidnapping and Raping of Student

MINEOLA, N.Y. – Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly announced the indictment of Queens school bus driver Giovanny Campos, 50, for the alleged rape and kidnapping of a Valley Stream student.

The incidents reportedly occurred between January and July.

Campos was arraigned before Judge Robert McDonald on charges including second-degree kidnapping, third-degree rape, two counts of third-degree criminal sex act, and reckless endangerment.

He pleaded not guilty, with bail set at varying amounts. Campos is due back in court on December 12, facing up to 25 years in prison if convicted of the top charge.

DA Donnelly stated that Campos, also known as Giovanny Guzman and employed by the Cheese Bus Company, allegedly sexually abused the student multiple times, including in a high school parking lot and at his apartment.
