Florida Man Who Met and Assaulted Juvenile Through Dating App Gets 5 Year Prison Term

BUNNELL, FL – On November 29, Alphonso Joseph received a 5-year prison sentence and 10 years of sex offender probation after pleading guilty to Lewd and Lascivious Battery.

Joseph’s arrest in July 2022 followed a loud music complaint near Matanzas Woods Golf Course.

Deputies found him in a vehicle’s backseat engaged in sexual activity with a juvenile male, whom he had met on a dating app.

Sheriff Rick Staly commended the Major Case Unit’s efforts in the case. He also thanked the resident who reported the noise, leading to the discovery and arrest of Joseph.
