Investigation Underway in Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Adelphi

ADELPHI, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that claimed the life of 54-year-old Rosa Guzman of Adelphi.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:25 a.m. on December 5, near the intersection of Riggs Road and Ruatan Street. Responding officers found Guzman in the roadway with severe injuries. She was transported to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Initial findings suggest the driver of a minivan, traveling on Riggs Road, struck Guzman as she attempted to cross the street. The driver remained at the scene and was not injured.
