Montgomery County Police Seek Help in Identifying Carjacking Suspects

SILVER SPRING, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division is seeking public assistance in identifying two suspects involved in an attempted armed carjacking on December 1 in the 13600 block of Middlevale Lane, Silver Spring.

At around 4:20 a.m., an adult male heard noises outside his home and found an unknown male in his car. Confronting the intruder, who then exited the vehicle, the victim was assaulted by a second suspect with a handgun, demanding personal property and car keys. Another adult from the residence intervened, and the suspects fled in a red SUV toward Layhill Road.

Earlier incidents linked to the suspects include the theft of a catalytic converter around 3:30 a.m. from a vehicle on the 13900 block of Alderton Road and their presence in a black sedan in the same area at approximately 12:22 a.m.

The suspects are described as two White or Hispanic males in their twenties. The first is about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 180-200 pounds, and was wearing a black winter coat, camouflage green hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black ski mask, and white sneakers with red and black soles. The second suspect, around 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 160-170 pounds, wore a blue winter coat, gray hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, a black ski mask, white and blue sneakers, and carried a black handgun.
