Officials Investigating Fire at Maryland Water Treatment Facility

ST. MICHAELS, MD – A fire broke out at the Waste Water Treatment Facility on E. Marengo Street in St. Michaels on Monday at 11:23 PM.

The one-story brick facility, owned by the Town of St Michaels, suffered significant damages, with an estimated loss of $350,000. There were no injuries or deaths reported.

The St Michaels Volunteer Fire Department, with 31 firefighters, managed to control the blaze in 1 hour and 27 minutes after a passerby discovered it.

The area of origin and the cause of the fire remain under investigation.
