Shooting Near Newark’s Shabazz High School

NEWARK, NJ – A shooting occurred in the 100 block of Milford Street, near Shabazz High School, in Newark’s South Ward.

The incident took place just before 3 p.m., resulting in one male victim sustaining a non-life-threatening bullet wound to his arm.

Upon arrival, police found shell casings and property damage, but no victims were initially located.

The high school took immediate measures to ensure student safety. The victim was later found near 5 Hunter Street and promptly taken to the university hospital for treatment.

A full investigation is currently ongoing at the established crime scene.
