WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY – On the first anniversary of the death of Yonkers Police Detective Sgt. Frank Gualdino, Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah provided an update on the case.

Following a year-long investigation, a 16-year-old defendant was indicted by a grand jury for Criminally Negligent Homicide in the December 2022 vehicular crash that resulted in Detective Sgt. Gualdino’s death.

Due to the defendant’s age and the legal stipulations of the 2019 Raise the Age law, the case has been transferred to Family Court, and the records of the criminal proceedings have been sealed.

The Westchester County Attorney’s Office will handle the Family Court proceedings.

DA Rocah acknowledged the patience and disappointment of Detective Sgt. Gualdino’s family, friends, and community, emphasizing continued support for the family.
