Family Gathering Turns Double Deadly in Bladen County

BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. – A family gathering in Bladen County early on Wednesday morning resulted into a double fatality.

The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the deaths of 57-year-old Enrique Sanchez Rodriquez Sr. and his daughter, 35-year-old Sandra Sanchez, residents of the Elizabethtown area.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies arrived at Governors Estate Drive, near Dublin, shortly after 4 a.m. following reports of a shooting.

The initial investigation indicates that during the gathering, Rodriquez shot his daughter. In the ensuing altercation, Rodriquez was also shot.

Both father and daughter succumbed to their injuries. The sheriff’s office is treating this case as a domestic-related incident. As the investigation continues, no charges have been filed at this time.
