Gloucester Township Officer Struck by Vehicle in “Porch Pirate” Incident

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Gloucester Township Police have issued a media release regarding an incident involving a wanted person, Ebony E. Gomez, known for her involvement in recent package thefts. On December 8, 2023, at approximately 1:39 PM, officers, acting on an anonymous tip, located a white Dodge Journey operated by Gomez in the Sicklerville section of Gloucester Township. The vehicle, with the license plate NJ-F64PSY, was identified as stolen, and officers noted unrestrained juveniles inside before it fled at high speed.

Later, officers found the vehicle parked on Parsons Court. As an officer approached and issued commands, Gomez again attempted to flee, striking the officer with her vehicle. The subsequent pursuit was quickly terminated due to safety concerns.

The officer was transported to Cooper Hospital and is in stable condition. While charges have been filed against Gomez, she remains at large. Gloucester Township Police urge Gomez to turn herself in and request anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact them at 856-228-4500, or in emergencies, call 911.
