New Haven Man Shot During Vehicle Break-In Attempt

NEW HAVEN, CT – A 43-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound during an attempted break-in of his work van in New Haven early Thursday morning.

The New Haven Police Department responded to the 100 block of Lowin Avenue following reports of the shooting.

First responders treated the man at the scene before transporting him to Yale New Haven Hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening. The incident occurred when the man confronted two suspects attempting to break into his van, leading to one suspect shooting him in the leg.

The suspects remain at large. The Major Crimes Unit and Bureau of Identification of the New Haven Police Department are actively investigating. They collected ballistic evidence and are seeking surveillance footage and witness testimonies.
