Woman Robbed at Subway Station Near Essex and Delancey Streets

NEW YORK CITY, NY — On Saturday, November 18, 2023, at about 8:20 a.m., a 45-year-old woman was robbed at a subway station staircase near Essex Street and Delancey Street. An unknown individual approached the victim, demanding her property and forcibly taking a necklace and $10 from her wallet.

The assailant then fled on foot, heading east on Delancey Street. The victim, who sustained scratches to her chest during the encounter, refused medical treatment at the scene.

The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion, approximately 6 feet tall, and short dark hair. He was last observed wearing a black sweatshirt, dark pants, and white sneakers.

The New York City Police Department is actively investigating this incident and seeking any information regarding the suspect’s identity or whereabouts.
