Brooklyn Gunman Sentenced for Shooting, Killing Innocent Bystander, Mother

BROOKLYN, NY – Oliver Case, a 31-year-old from East New York, Brooklyn, has been sentenced to 55 years to life in prison.

The sentence, delivered by Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Vincent Del Giudice, follows Case’s conviction for the fatal shooting of Limose Thomas, a 54-year-old mother, and the attempted murder of two men.

Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced the sentence on Friday. The event took place on August 19, 2021, around 8:30 p.m., near 1525 Saint Johns Place in Crown Heights.

Case, while targeting two men, inadvertently struck and killed Thomas, who was returning home from work.

Case was apprehended on November 16, 2021, following an investigation. He was convicted on November 2, of second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree attempted murder.
