Columbus Police Investigate Fatal Vehicle Fire, Make Arrest

COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Police Homicide Unit is investigating the discovery of a body in a burning vehicle early Friday morning. Police responded to a reported vehicle fire at the intersection of Weldon Ave and Cleveland Ave. Upon arrival, along with Columbus Fire Engine 16, the officers extinguished the fire and discovered a body in the vehicle. Columbus Fire Medic #16 pronounced the individual deceased at 12:56 am.

The investigation led to the arrest of William Gray. The identity of the deceased remains unknown at this time.
