Man Shot in New Haven, Police Investigating

NEW HAVEN, CT – The New Haven Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that occurred near South Genesee Street and Harper Avenue.

On Saturday, around 10:44 a.m., officers were dispatched following a report of a gunshot victim.

A 42-year-old male was found with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital.

The Major Crimes Unit and Bureau of Identification of the police department are working to collect evidence, review surveillance footage, and gather witness statements.

Sgt. Cherelle Carr, spokesperson for the New Haven Police Department, noted the complexity of determining the exact location of the shooting due to conflicting witness accounts. The department is continuing its investigation and has not made any arrests in connection with the incident.
