Philadelphia Police Officers Wounded in Holmesburg Shooting

PHILADELPHIA, PA – An early Sunday morning shooting in Holmesburg left two Philadelphia police officers hospitalized. The suspect is also critically injured.

The incident began around 2:00 a.m. with a report of shots fired at Cottman Avenue and the Roosevelt Boulevard.

Officers spotted a pickup truck, believed to be involved, fleeing the scene, initiating a short pursuit with two patrol cars.

The chase ended at Frankford Avenue and Welsh Road, where the suspect’s vehicle rammed a patrol car. Upon officers exiting their vehicles, the suspect opened fire, leading to an exchange of gunfire.

Both injured officers and the suspect are receiving medical attention. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited from the Philadelphia Police Department.
