Deadly Shooting Claims Life of Woman in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — A shooting in the Sturnbridge development along Carmel Road in south Charlotte has resulted in one woman’s death and a man’s hospitalization.

The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, in the 4000 block of Meadowbridge Drive, as reported by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD).

Upon arrival, officers found two victims with gunshot wounds. The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the male victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A person of interest was also discovered at the scene and is currently being questioned.

The CMPD confirmed that they are not seeking any additional suspects at this time.
