Maryland Attorney General Probes Fatal Collision on Georgia Avenue

GAITHERSBURG, MD – The Maryland Attorney General’s Office is currently investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Georgia Avenue on Wednesday night.

The incident began around 10:17 PM when 4th District officers attempted to stop a suspect following a hit-and-run involving a Montgomery County police cruiser. The suspect, driving a white Nissan Maxima, initially fled an attempted traffic stop.

During the ensuing pursuit, the Maxima collided with a Toyota Corolla and then a Honda Pilot at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Henderson Avenue.

Following the collision, the authorities apprehended a 19-year-old male occupant of the Maxima. Tragically, a second occupant, a passenger in the Maxima, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Maryland Attorney General’s Office is conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision, including the initial encounter with the police and the subsequent chase and crash.
