Man Who Carjacked 17-Year-Old NYC Girl in Dover Behind Bars

DOVER, DE – The Dover Police Department has announced the arrest of Deandre Bennett, 27, of Dover, in connection with a carjacking incident that occurred at Hollywood Diner on December 9th.

The U.S. Marshal’s First State Fugitive Task Force apprehended Bennett last Friday, without incident.

The original incident involved a 17-year-old female victim from New York, who was sitting in a running vehicle outside Hollywood Diner when Bennett allegedly entered the vehicle and attempted to drive away. The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Bennett, now in custody, faces a charge of first-degree robbery and is being held at SCI on a $60,000 cash bail.
