Attempted Burglary Reported on Hory Street in Cranford

CRANFORD, NJ – The Cranford Police Department is investigating an attempted residential burglary that occurred on Hory Street in the early hours of December 17th, 2023.

Around 4:55 AM, a suspect dressed in all grey clothing attempted to force open the front door of a residence on Hory Street. The intrusion was interrupted when the victim’s dog began barking, prompting the suspect to flee before gaining entry into the home. Notably, there was a BMW parked on the victim’s property at the time of the attempted burglary.

Cranford Police urge residents to remain vigilant, especially during overnight hours. This includes locking vehicles, securing homes, and ensuring that security cameras are functional.

The Police Department requests that residents report any suspicious activities immediately by calling 908-272-2222. Additionally, those with surveillance footage capturing the incident are encouraged to email their videos to police@cranfordnj.org.
