Maryland State Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in Dorchester County

DORCHESTER COUNTY, MD – A fatal shooting in Dorchester County is under investigation by the Maryland State Police.

The incident occurred on Monday morning, shortly before 8:00 AM. Cambridge Police Department officers responded to a call at the 600 block of Bradley Avenue, where they found Taron Jones, a 36-year-old resident of Cambridge, suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was declared dead at the scene by Dorchester County emergency medical services.

The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit has taken over the lead in this investigation, with assistance from the Cambridge Police Department.

Detectives have been in consultation with the Dorchester County State’s Attorney Office and have identified a person of interest. They assure the public that there is no current threat related to this incident.
