Atlantic City Surveillance System Helps Police Nab Boardwalk Burglary Suspect

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department successfully apprehended a burglary suspect, Eliezer Nieves, 46, of Atlantic City, with the assistance of their Surveillance Center.

In the early hours of December 20, 2023, at approximately 2:25 AM, Surveillance Center personnel identified a burglary in progress at a restaurant located in the 3000 block of the Boardwalk. They promptly alerted patrol officers, providing a detailed description of the suspect. Officer Kevin McGloin responded swiftly, locating Nieves as he was walking away from the establishment.

Upon apprehension, Nieves was found in possession of bolt cutters. He was arrested without incident. Further investigation revealed that Nieves had numerous active warrants for his arrest.

Nieves now faces charges of burglary, criminal mischief, and possession of burglary tools.
