Brooklyn Man Charged in Fatal Pedestrian Crash That Killed 61-Year-Old Man

NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. — Kymani McDonald, a 20-year-old Brooklyn resident, has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including Manslaughter and Criminally Negligent Homicide.

The charges relate to a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred on December 5, 2022.

Police responded to a 911 call at 1252 Bedford Avenue, where they found a 61-year-old male, Glen Fields, with severe trauma.

He was pronounced deceased after being transported to NYC Health and Hospitals / Kings County. Preliminary investigations revealed that McDonald, then 19, was driving a 2007 BMW when he struck Fields.

McDonald, who remained at the scene, was arrested and charged on Tuesday. The case continues to be investigated by the New York City Police Department.
