MINEOLA, N.Y. – Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly announced the arraignment of Dennis Ray, also known as Midnight, 62, from Roosevelt, on charges of second-degree murder.

The charges stem from an alleged attack outside a Hempstead restaurant in April 2022, resulting in the death of the victim a year later.

Ray, along with co-defendant Tyrell Guthrie, is accused of severely beating Jose Osma, 59, during a robbery.

Osma was found the next morning with significant injuries and later succumbed to them on April 30. Ray faces up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted.

Guthrie has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and awaits sentencing.
