Chain Snatching Incident on Southbound “2” Train Near Prospect Avenue

NEW YORK, NY – An 18-year-old female was the victim of a chain snatching incident on the southbound “2” train, as it neared the Prospect Avenue subway station. The incident occurred on Monday, December 18,, at approximately 10:20 AM.

The victim reported that an unknown individual approached her and forcibly removed the chain from her neck. The assailant then fled the scene on foot to an undisclosed location. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any physical injuries during the incident.

The New York City Police Department is investigating the matter and is seeking any information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the suspect. Witnesses or anyone with information related to the incident are urged to contact the authorities.
