Woman Pulled from Submerged Car in Chesapeake Dead at Hospital

CHESAPEAKE, VA – On Tuesday, at 11:13 p.m., Chesapeake Police were called to a scene where a vehicle had submerged in a lake at the intersection of Hillcrest Parkway and Edinburgh Parkway.

Emergency services, including police and fire departments located the vehicle in the lake.

The Chesapeake Police Underwater Search and Recovery Team was deployed and successfully recovered an adult female, the sole occupant of the vehicle.

She was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to her injuries.

This incident is currently under active investigation. The Chesapeake Police Department asks anyone with information about this incident to contact the Crime Line or submit a tip online. The public can provide information anonymously, and tips leading to an arrest may qualify for a cash reward.
