Elderly Christmas Carolers Attacked in Boston, Two Teens Charged

BOSTON, MA – On Sunday, at approximately 3:05 PM, Boston Police officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a report of an ongoing assault on Johnston Road.

The incident involved a group of elderly Christmas carolers who were singing on Johnston Street. During this event, two elderly individuals were unexpectedly attacked from behind and punched multiple times.

Despite a thorough search, the assailants initially evaded capture. The two victims declined medical treatment at the scene.

Subsequent investigations led detectives to identify two juvenile suspects. After questioning in the presence of their parents, the juveniles confessed to their involvement.

Criminal complaints are being filed against a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old male for assault and battery on persons aged 60 and over, with hearings scheduled at Dorchester District Court.
