Cherry Hill Mall Implements Parental Escort Policy for Holiday Shopping

CHERRY HILL, NJ – In a joint statement today, the Cherry Hill Police Department and Cherry Hill Mall Management announced the enforcement of a parental escort policy. This policy, effective from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on December 26, requires all mall guests aged 17 and under to be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult aged 21 or older. The decision aims to ensure a safe shopping experience during the holiday season.

The policy mandates that every young guest must have proof of age for admittance. A single parent or adult can supervise up to four youths. This measure responds to concerns about unsupervised children at retail shopping centers. The police department emphasized that juveniles not acting responsibly will be escorted off the property. Furthermore, those engaged in criminal activities will face arrest and prosecution.

Mall management reiterated the importance of this policy for maintaining a secure and enjoyable environment for all shoppers. The collaboration between the Cherry Hill Police Department and the mall administration underscores their commitment to public safety during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year.
