Fatal Shooting in Southeast D.C. Leaves One Man Dead

WASHINGTON, DC – The District’s Homicide Branch is actively investigating a fatal shooting in Southeast Washington, D.C., that resulted in the death of a 31-year-old man.

The incident unfolded late on Friday night, around 11:16 p.m. when officers from the Seventh District responded to reports of gunshots in the 3000 block of Stanton Road. Upon arrival, they discovered evidence of a shooting. Meanwhile, officers from the First District were informed about a man with a gunshot wound being transported to their station by a rideshare driver. Tragically, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the station.

The deceased has been identified as Tejuan Coleman, a resident of Southeast D.C.
