Bronx Man Charged with DWI in Yorktown After Police See Him Driving on Rim

YORKTOWN, NY – A 58-year-old Bronx man was arrested for drunk driving in Yorktown after police found him driving with a flat tire early Saturday morning.

The incident occurred on Dec. 24 at about 12:45 a.m. when Yorktown Police responded to a report of a car driving on its rim on Old Yorktown Road (Route 132). Officers located the vehicle traveling south near the Taconic State Parkway overpass and observed it veering unsafely from its lane.

The driver, identified as Michael Rivera, was stopped and investigated at the scene. The investigation revealed signs of intoxication. Tests later confirmed Rivera’s blood alcohol content exceeded .18 percent.

Rivera faces charges including driving while intoxicated. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Jan. 4 at 6 p.m.
