D.C. Police Seek Public’s Help in Locating Homicide Suspect

WASHINGTON, DC – Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch officials are intensifying their search for a suspect involved in a fatal shooting incident that occurred in Southeast Washington, D.C.

The incident took place on November 4, 2023, around 3:45 p.m. in the 1400 block of L Street, Southeast. First District officers, responding to a shooting report, discovered a young man suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Charles Towles from Southeast, DC. Investigations have led to the identification of 20-year-old Tremon Jackson, also a Southeast, DC resident, as the primary suspect. Jackson is currently wanted under a DC Superior Court arrest warrant for Second Degree Murder While Armed.

Authorities have circulated Jackson’s photo and are appealing to the public for any information that can assist in his apprehension.
