MTA Worker Attacked Inside Bronx Subway Station

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has issued a public appeal for assistance in identifying a suspect involved in the assault of a Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) employee. The incident occurred at the Cypress Avenue subway station in the Bronx.

On the morning of Friday, December 8, at around 10:30 AM, a 55-year-old male MTA worker was attacked while cleaning the mezzanine area of the station. An unidentified male approached the employee and punched him in the face, causing a facial laceration. The assailant then fled the scene. The injured worker received medical attention at NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln and is reported to be in stable condition.

. Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect to come forward to assist in the investigation.
