Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Schenectady Vehicle Crash

SCHENECTADY, NY – A serious motor vehicle crash in Schenectady resulted in critical injuries to a pedestrian on the evening of Tuesday, December 26. Schenectady Police responded to the 1600 block of Van Vranken Avenue around 9:02 PM following multiple 911 calls.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle, leaving him unconscious and in critical condition. The injured pedestrian was immediately transported to Albany Medical Center for emergency treatment. His identity has not been released, and his current condition remains uncertain.

The Schenectady Police Traffic Division, Evidence Technician Unit, and Schenectady County Crash Reconstruction Team are actively investigating the incident. The driver involved in the crash is cooperating with the investigation.

Van Vranken Avenue wass temporarily closed between Kenwood Avenue and Mason Street.
