Assault and Robbery Attempt on Broadway Investigated as Hate Crime

NEW YORK, NY – Police received a report of an assault and attempted robbery at 1675 Broadway on Wednesday, December 20. A 53-year-old woman was attacked by an unidentified man making anti-ethnic remarks.

The incident occurred around 9:00 PM. The assailant, described as a 30-year-old male with a light complexion, punched the victim in the face multiple times and tried to steal her property. He was last seen fleeing on foot, shirtless, with a purple bandana, dark pants, and light-colored shoes.

Emergency services attended the scene, but the victim declined medical assistance. The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force has taken over the investigation.
