Do You Know Him? Newark Police Seeking Help to Identify Armed Robbery Suspect

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted for questioning in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on December 26, 2023.

The incident took place around 4 p.m. in the 100 block of Camden Street. According to reports, Derrick Knight, 33, arranged to meet with the male victim. During their meeting, two Black males approached them from behind. The assailants demanded the victim’s belongings and struck him with a handgun. Knight, however, was neither robbed nor injured by the suspects.

Knight is currently sought by detectives for questioning related to this incident. He is described as being 5’6” tall and weighing approximately 145 pounds. The police request that anyone with information about Knight’s whereabouts or the robbery incident contact them to aid in the investigation.
